various City Color Cosmetics makeup products scattered on a blue background

Hi lovelies, are you ready for a huge makeup haul blog post? I'm super excited to introduce you to this gorgeous makeup collection by City Color Cosmetics. It is not my first experience with this brand, I have tried their iconic liquid lipstick in a beautiful shade called 'Homeslice'. This little test drive made me so excited for this haul! I couldn't wait to get my package!

Unfortunately, there was an issue at our local post office. As a result, I received the package with the City Color Cosmetics winter collection two and a half months later than planned.  I hope City Color Cosmetics will forgive me for this long postponement and I'm really sorry for this delay. And now, without further ado, let's get started!

  • About the City Color Cosmetics

Let's begin with a few words about the brand! The City Color Cosmetics was first introduced to the general audience at IMATS LA 2013 as a high-quality and budget-friendly beauty brand. Since then City Color has proven that people around the world can look their best, without spending a fortune on makeup products.

  • City Color Cosmetics Primer Oil

The very first product I'm going to talk about is this amazing non-greasy Oil Primer. It comes in a pretty glass bottle with a very comfortable dropper. This allows for an easy and hygienic application of this primer oil to your face and neck. Thanks to its multi-purposed vitamin-enriched formula, you can use this product to nourish your skin, nails, and even your hair. I have a couple of dry liquid eyeliners, which were successfully reanimated with the help of this Oil Primer by City Color

How to use it?

Apply a few little drops of this primer directly on your skin, gently pat it with your fingers, and give it a few minutes to absorb. City Color Oil Primer will fill in fine lines and pores, making the surface of your skin smooth and even.

Now it is time to talk about Be Matte Lipstick in a gorgeous brick red color called 'Claudia'. I love everything about this lipstick: simple and beautiful packaging, moisturizing formula, and velvety matte finish. Even though this lipstick is matte, it feels pretty comfortable on the lips. The staying power of this lippie is also great. The color gives me some strong '90s grunge makeup vibes, so, in my opinion, Be Matte Lipstick is an ideal pair for neutral eye makeup, bold eyebrows, and glowing skin.

  • City Color Cosmetics Single Eyeshadows

City Color winter collection features five single eyeshadows with the most fantastic names: 'New Year, New Me!', 'Breezy', 'Poolside', "Skinny Latte', Night Owl'. All of these colors are impressively pigmented and very silky. But, most importantly they have incredible finishes. I will demonstrate the swatches in one of my future reviews. I'm very excited to play around with these colors and I even think to record a makeup tutorial, using these pretty shades.

  • City Color Cosmetics Classic Face Primer

The next product is yet another makeup primer, but this time with a classic formulation. Classic Face Primer by City Color Cosmetics prepares the skin for makeup foundation, hiding enlarged pores and other little imperfections. The lightweight formula is water-based and paraben-free. It gives the skin a smooth matte finish and helps your makeup to last longer with no creasing.

How to use it?

You can use this primer under your makeup foundation, or even on its own. It has a slight tint to the texture, so it additionally covers small visual imperfections. I haven't decided yet, which one of the two City Color Cosmetics primers I like more, both seem to be great! In my follow-up blog posts, I'm going to be talking about both of them in detail.

  • City Color Cosmetics Contour Palette

Who said that contouring, as a makeup trend, is going to completely disappear this year? City Color Contour Palette is one of my favorite makeup products from the entire collection. It is not a secret, that I prefer to sculpt my face with powder products. Powder contouring is easy and beginner-friendly, unlike heavy cream contouring.

City Color Contour Palette comes in a light, cardboard case and features three incredibly pigmented colors – everything you need to add dimension to your face. All three colors have a very smooth, silky texture, it is very easy to blend them on the skin.

How to use it?

Use it as any other powder contouring – primer your face, apply foundation, and set it with some powder. Take your favorite contouring brush and gently add the brown matte powder to your face for a beautiful definition.

  • City Color Cosmetics Tinted Brow Gel in shade 'Taupe'

To tame the most mischievous eyebrows the brand has prepared a tinted brow gel. There are six different color options for every eyebrow shade: blonde, auburn, chocolate, taupe, ash brown, and ebony. This eyebrow gel helps to keep eyebrow hairs in place, fills them with color, and preserves the natural beauty and shape of eyebrows.

The formula is waterproof, so you don't need to worry about humid weather, rain, or snow. I really liked the performance of this product and hope that shortly City Color Cosmetics will develop an eyebrow pomade collection, similar to these tinted brow gels. Unfortunately the shade Taupe doesn't seem to fit the color of my natural eyebrows, but the staying power seems to be on top!

  • City Color Cosmetics Chic Gel Eyeliner in shade 'Carbon'

I personally can't imagine my favorite dramatic makeup look without the help of pigmented eyeliner. A good, well-pigmented, and long-lasting eyeliner is a must-have for every makeup enthusiast out there. The Chic Gel Eyeliner by City Color Cosmetics in 'Carbon' is incredibly pigmented. Additionally, it has a waterproof formula, so it is a perfect partner for tinted eyebrow gel! The waterproof formula makes it the perfect black eyeliner for the upper and lower waterline.

How to use it?

The waterproof formula makes it the perfect black eyeliner for the upper and lower waterline. So, I prefer to use it for tightlining my eyes on days when I do smoky makeup. But it can also be used to create winged eyeliner looks or even for the lips.

City Color Creamy Lips in the shade 'Chocolate Merlot'

Creamy Lips 'Chocolate Merlot' by City Color Cosmetics is all you need to complete a sultry makeup look. I'll be honest with you guys, I fell in love with the deeply pigmented color and creamy formula of this lipstick. It was a true love at first sight! I would say it is a perfect fall-to-winter red lipstick, that looks great on every complexion. Thanks to its creamy formula it feels very comfortable on the lips, gliding on them like silk!

How to use it?

Line your lips, defining their beautiful shape. Fill them in with the lip liner and add Creamy Lips on top of the liner. Fix any little imperfections and your lip look is done!

  • City Color Cosmetics Fierce Lashes Mascara

And the last in today's haul is the City Color Cosmetics Fierce Lashes Mascara. It has a volumizing formula, that provides curling effects to the lashes. I have already tried Fierce Lashes mascara and was impressed with how curly and fluffy my lashes looked. However, this is my least favorite product from the City Color's winter collection. I feel like it makes my lashes heavy and clumps them up.

Summarizing...

To sum up today's makeup haul, I want to say that I couldn't be happier with the quality and performance of these makeup products. I'm planning to write a detailed review of my favorite products from this collection soon. I'll show you some swatches and talk about my experience. I'm looking forward to testing out these wonderful makeup products and sharing my results with you. Have you heard of the City Color Cosmetics brand? What's your favorite makeup product?

Lots of love,
Liz
