We’re almost two weeks into a new year and if you’re still buzzing with motivation for the twelve months ahead, great! If not, then it’s time to get things in order. One of the best ways to make you feel the best version of yourself in all aspects of your life is to really focus on your health and wellbeing. There are many elements within this and by having a solid routine, you will find that you are happier, have more energy, and look better than you ever have done. Deciding what to do to impact your health and wellbeing can be a bit confusing or you might feel you are doing everything you can already. Here we have put together some top health and wellbeing tips for 2024…

  • Have a proper skincare routine

Never underestimate the power of a good skincare routine! Skincare is a subtle thing to do to add to your wellbeing but can make a great difference. The complexity of your skincare routine depends on how much time you have and what you want to do, so take some time to figure out the best one for you.

If you see your skincare as a form of pampering and a chance to have some “me time” you could add in many different steps such as toning and peeling or hydrating masks as well as cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing. Also, try to find a brand that you like and stick to it. Too much chopping and changing can cause your skin to dry out, become too oily, or break out in spots.

  • Implement a haircare routine

If you have resolved to have healthier hair in 2022, then you need to start with a good hair care routine. Be sure to do your research and find the best shampoo and conditioner for you. Many high street brands can be advertised as good for your hair but end up leaving residue or drying out your locks completely. Have a look at the market and see what is best for you and has the best reviews.

Another element you should look at introducing to your hair care routine is a weekly or twice-weekly hair mask. Hair masks are great for giving your hair a much-needed moisture boost and helping to repair the damage. You should also consider the towel you use to dry your hair. Not many people realize how much the type of towel you use can impact your hair. Luckily, by researching The Best Hair Towels For Every Single Hair Type you can find a towel that is best for you and will avoid breakage.

  • Be more organized

When looking to improve your mental health, an organization can be a real winner with this. There are many ways you can be more organized in your life. It could be that you have a big sort out of your home and get rid of any items that are just cluttering up your space such as ornaments or organizing your jewellery

The less clutter you have surrounding you, the less cluttered your mind can feel. It could be that you want to improve your organization in your work life. In this case, try to be better at making lists, sorting out your folders, and prioritizing the different tasks you have to do. By focusing and sorting out your workload you will get things done quicker, spend less time procrastinating, and be better at focusing on the tasks at hand. Make sure you back up all of your work and have it split into different folders depending on what the job you need to do is.

  • Try and eat healthier

After an indulgent festive season, take some time to sort out your diet and try to be healthier in the new year. One of the easiest ways to be healthier is to do meal prep. By doing meal prep you take some time off at the weekend or one day during the week and prepare your meals for the week ahead. Not only does this save you time, but it means if you don’t want to cook you don’t end up ordering a takeaway as you already have meals ready and waiting to be heated up.

Try to have eight fruits and vegetables a day and drink 2 liters of water to keep yourself hydrated. When cooking, try to weigh out your food and not make portions that are too big. One of the most common things when it comes to meal prep is making portions that are too big and therefore overeating on calories.

  • Limit your alcohol intake

Over the festive period, you probably drank a fair amount of alcohol. While this is fine, as we enter the new year it's a good idea to give your body a bit of a break. Alcohol can not only cause weight gain but has been found to exacerbate anxiety too. Try to limit your alcohol consumption to weekends only, or just a couple of nights a week.

You could also opt to switch to non-alcoholic alternatives such as nosecco or non-alcoholic wine or gin. This way you feel like you are drinking something a bit more special without having the actual calories or negative things that drinking alcohol brings with it. You could try making mocktails too!

  • Find a workout you enjoy and stick to it

If you want to get fit but hate the gym, try a few different workouts and see what you prefer. You might find you prefer playing tennis, badminton or attending a sports class with other people. Remember working out is personal to find what you like and try to stick to it.

These are just a few health and wellbeing tips for 2024 that are sure to help you feel and look your best self. Try to implement a couple at first and then slowly introduce them all. Remember not to put too much pressure on yourself, these things take time and changes don’t all happen at once. Have you decided to focus more on your health and wellbeing in 2024? If so, what did you do? Let us know in the comments we would love to hear from you.

Lots of love,
