Elizavecca Vitamin C Modeling Mask Pack on arose-gold background

Skincare is often portrayed as a serene, spa-like ritual, but for me, it's more like a chaotic science experiment. I've mixed, mashed, and applied more ingredients to my face than I can count, all in the pursuit of that elusive "glow." My quest for a truly effective mask has led me down many rabbit holes, from exotic clays to charcoal concoctions.

Most left me feeling either too dry or not clean enough. So when I heard about a face mask made from Diatomaceous Earth, a powder derived from fossilized algae, I was intrigued and a little skeptical. Could this be the one product that finally delivered on its promises?

About the Modeling Face Mask by Elizavecca

Elizavecca Modeling Mask Pack* is a newly developed peel-off face mask based on Diatomaceous Earth. It comes in a powder form, which, when mixed with water, creates a thick, rubbery consistency. As it solidifies on the skin, it draws out impurities, hydrates, cleans, nourishes, and evens out the skin.

The mask is available in six variations: Berry Collagen, Lemon Vitamin, Icy Cool Teatree, Calm Herb Centella, Soda Aqua, and Dark Crush Charcoal. The formulations share many of the same core ingredients, such as Diatomaceous Earth, Kaolin, and Glucose, with some variations depending on the mask's specific action. Each variant is uniquely formulated to target specific skin concerns, from the brightening effects of Vitamin C to the firming power of Collagen or the purifying action of Charcoal.

Product Promise:

Modeling pack promises to provide an instant cooling and calming sensation, leaving your skin feeling refreshed, deeply hydrated, and visibly smoother after every use. It's the perfect way to revitalize your complexion and achieve that coveted, radiant, glass-like finish.

  • Where to buy?
You can get a modeling pack on Amazon or the official Elizavecca website. For the price of $7.90, you'll receive 28 g (0.98 oz) of the product.

Packaging:

The modeling pack, a peel-off mask, comes in a plastic bowl with a measuring spoon, all sealed with an aluminium seal that features the name of the mask and a cute Elizavecca girl (I think she is also featured on the Botanich Collagen Mask). The handy spoon is perfect for measuring the powder, adding water, and mixing your mask.

Texture and Scent:

The modeling pack comes in a finely milled powder form. It is white and uniform with a slight yellowish tint to it and little specs of yellow particles. Once it comes in contact with water, the texture turns into a thick, clay-like consistency that is smooth and supple. It is easy to spread across the face and neck area. Just don't add too much water; start with a scoop and later add more, if necessary.

The scent is minimal, slightly citrusy. It reminds me somewhat of vitamin C supplements, but I assume that every mask's aroma is going to differ.

Ingredients:

And what about the ingredients? Elizavecca never seems to let us down here, so let's take a closer look! The main component of the mask is Diatomaceous Earth – a soft, porous powder made from the fossilized remains of diatoms (algae). It's the primary ingredient in most modeling masks, serving as a gentle exfoliant and absorbent, helping to draw out impurities and excess oil. Algin (Sodium Alginate) is also present in the list. It is derived from brown seaweed, which is the key gelling agent. It's what causes the mask to solidify and form a cohesive, rubbery sheet that can be peeled off. It also has hydrating and soothing properties.

There are a few actives as well:

  • Niacinamide: Our favorite Vitamin B3 – a powerhouse ingredient. At 1,000 ppm (parts per million), it's included in a significant amount to provide benefits like brightening skin tone, reducing the appearance of pores, regulating oil production, and strengthening the skin's barrier.
  • Hippophae Rhamnoides Water (Sea Buckthorn Water): Extracted from sea buckthorn berries, this ingredient is rich in antioxidants, vitamins (especially Vitamin C), and essential fatty acids. It's excellent for brightening the complexion, soothing inflammation, and providing deep nourishment.
  • Panthenol: Also known as Pro-Vitamin B5, it's a powerful humectant and skin conditioner. It attracts moisture, helps to repair and strengthen the skin barrier, and has a soothing effect, reducing redness and irritation.
  • Allantoin: A soothing and healing ingredient derived from plants. It helps to moisturize the skin, promote cell regeneration, and calm irritation and inflammation.
  • Menthol: A compound derived from mint oil that provides a cooling and refreshing sensation on the skin. This can be particularly soothing for irritated or heated skin.

How to Use Elizavecca Modeling Mask Pack

For best results, begin with a clean, dry face, free of any makeup or residue. In a small bowl, combine one spoonful of the Elizavecca Vitamin C Modeling Mask powder with an equal part of purified water. Stir quickly and thoroughly with a spatula until the mixture forms a smooth, thick paste – the texture should be similar to yogurt, not watery or clumpy.

Starting at your chin and working your way up to your forehead, apply a thick, even layer of the mixture across your entire face, avoiding the eye and mouth areas. As the mask sets, you'll feel a cooling sensation as it transforms into a pliable, rubbery sheet. After 15 to 20 minutes, or once the mask is fully set, gently peel it off from the bottom up. Remove any leftover residue with warm water or a face wipe.

My Experience:

Okay, let's be real: the first step was a frantic, messy affair. You know the process – a true speed-test of hand-eye coordination as I rushed to mix that powder and water before it set into a solid blob. Most of the videos show how the mask is mixed directly in the container with the water. However, knowing the drill, I used only two scoops from the mask pack. This is more than enough product to cover the entire face and neck area, so don't use more than necessary. I would say a pack like this can be used up to three or four times.

The uniform, clay-like mask feels so pleasant on the skin, delivering a cooling, relaxing sensation, so you won't find a better summer-ready product! But the best part? The satisfying peel, of course.

After 5 to 7 minutes of drying (it depends on the amount of water you've mixed and the temperature at home), you'll be ready to remove the Elizavecca Vitamin C Modeling Mask Pack! Pulling off that single, large, rubber-like cast was immensely gratifying. My skin was instantly smoother, cooler, and there was no unpleasant drying sensation like with most powder masks. I believe it is all because of the collagen.

Final Verdict…

Hydration: 👍👍👍👎(8/10)
Texture: 👍👍👍👎(8/10)
Overall: 👍👍👍👎 (8/10)

Packed with brightening Vitamin C, along with hydrating and soothing components like diatomite and algin, this mask is designed to target dullness, uneven texture, and a compromised skin barrier. And I believe it delivers results right after the first application. Of course, for a visible improvement, you'll need to be using the mask regularly, but the chilling, refreshing plumpness is right there from the start!

I believe that Elizavecca Vitamin C Modeling Mask Pack is a great alternative to the old-fashioned peel-off masks that are supposed to cleanse the skin, while in fact, they can hurt it. This mask is pleasant to the skin and removes in one piece (almost!). To get that satisfying peel, I recommend you to use a thicker layer of the product, then it works like a charm. If used too thin, then it gets a bit messy and you'll need to wash or scrape it off later.

While it requires a bit of effort to mix and apply, the visible results – including a more radiant, plump, and calm complexion – make it well worth the ritual. It's a powerful and affordable solution for anyone looking to revitalize their skin and achieve that coveted K-beauty glow. The best thing is a gentle, non-drying action. I hate it when the masks irritate your skin. And what about you?
