Modeling masks – often called ''rubber masks'' – have long been a staple in high-end Korean aesthetic clinics for their ability to lock in moisture and detoxify the skin simultaneously. The Elizavecca Soda Aqua Modeling Pack brings this technology home, utilizing a refreshing sensation and soda-infused formula to reset your complexion.

Whether you're battling the summer heat or just need a deep reset for tired, dull skin, this mask promises a spa-like experience at home. But does it live up to the hype? Keep reading for my full review, including the satisfying peel, the unexpected cooling sensation!

About the Soda Aqua Modeling Pack

Ready to level up your masking game? Forget those messy creams and sheet masks for a minute, because I've found a skincare superhero that is shaking up the boring skincare routine: the Elizavecca Modeling Mask Pack!

This isn't your average face treatment. It starts as a finely milled powder, with Diatomaceous Earth as its powerhouse base. Here's where the fun begins: you mix it with water, and voilà – it transforms into a wonderfully thick, rubbery paste. Slap that beautiful sludge onto your face, and as it sets, it works some serious magic.
  • Where to buy?
You can buy your very own pack of Soda Aqua Mask* via the official Elizavecca website or find it on Amazon. The product is priced at $7.90 for a 28 g (0.98 oz) unit.

Packaging:

The first thing you'll notice about this modeling pack is the adorable packaging. It comes ready-to-go in its own sturdy plastic bowl, which is perfectly sealed with a protective aluminium foil lid. But it gets better! That seal isn't just for freshness – it’s also decorated with the mask’s name and a super cute Elizavecca girl.

And for the practical side, they even include a handy measuring spoon right in the kit. Seriously, this little spoon is your MVP. It’s absolutely perfect for scooping the powder, adding just the right amount of water, and mixing up your mask into that satisfying, creamy paste! Ready, set, mix!

Texture and Scent:

Just like the Vitamin C Modeling Mask Pack, the Soda version comes in a finely milled powder form, feeling luxurious and uniform right out of the container. While it's predominantly a clean white, I noticed a very slight blueish tint to the powder.

But the real magic happens when you introduce water! This is where you need to be cautious – remember the golden rule: Start small! I recommend beginning with a single scoop of the powder and slowly adding water, drop by drop, if needed. As it mixes, the powder transforms into a thick, clay-like consistency that is incredibly smooth and supple to the touch.

And the scent? It's definitely minimal, which is a big plus for sensitive noses! I caught a subtle, slightly minty note. To me, it brings to mind refreshing shampoo or toothpaste, but keep in mind that the aroma will likely differ across the various masks in the line.

Ingredients:

All six masks from the Modeling Pack series are based on Diatomaceous Earth – a naturally occurring sand made from the fossilized remains of tiny, aquatic organisms called diatoms. The list of other ingredients is also almost similar; however, there are some unique components in each jar.

Soda Aqua Modeling Pack treats us with the Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract or Aloe Vera. It is packed with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that immediately calm inflammation. When applied in a modeling mask, it provides a cooling sensation that constricts blood vessels, making it perfect for reducing redness after a long day or post-sun exposure. Its high water content ensures your skin is drinking in moisture while it sits.

You'll also find Laminaria Japonica Extract – a brown algae extract which is a heavy hitter for detoxification and anti-aging. It is naturally rich in polysaccharides, which act like tiny sponges to lock moisture into the skin’s surface. Beyond hydration, it helps to "grab" impurities and pollutants from the pores, which are then lifted away when you peel the mask off, leaving the skin looking clarified and bright.

Another interesting ingredient in the formula is Japanese Mountain Yam. This is a "hidden gem" ingredient in Korean skincare. It contains a high concentration of mucin (a slippery, complex protein) and allantoin. It works to create a protective film over the skin, preventing "Trans-Epidermal Water Loss" (TEWL). If your skin feels tight or "thin," this root extract helps to plump it back up and support the natural healing process, giving you that bouncy, youthful texture.

How to Use Soda Aqua Modeling Pack:

First things first: we need a squeaky clean slate! For the best absorption and results, start with a clean, dry face. That means absolutely no makeup, no sunscreen residue, just your beautiful, bare skin. Trust me, it makes a difference!

Grab a small bowl (a dedicated masking bowl works best!). You can mix the mask right in the container; sharing it with your partner is a skincare crime. Add an equal part of water to the powder.  It's usually about one small scoop of powder to one small scoop of water! This is the most crucial part! Once the water hits the powder, you're on the clock.

Using a spatula, stir quickly and thoroughly until the mixture transforms into a smooth, thick paste. You're looking for a texture similar to smooth, creamy yogurt – not watery, not drippy, and definitely no lumps! If it's too thin, it won't peel properly.

Now that you have your perfect paste, apply it to your face in a thick, even layer. Start at your chin and rapidly work your way up to your forehead. Be sure to avoid the delicate eye and mouth areas. (This mask can be messy, so it's a good idea to protect your hairline/brows!) As the mask starts to cure, you’ll immediately feel a wonderful, cooling sensation. That’s the magic happening as the paste transforms into a pliable, rubbery sheet!

Patience, my friend! Let the mask sit and do its work for 15 to 20 minutes, or until it feels completely set and rubbery. Once it's ready, gently lift an edge at your chin and peel the mask off in one satisfying sheet, moving from the bottom up. It should come off easily! Toss that rubbery masterpiece and use a face wipe or a splash of warm water to remove any tiny bits of residue left behind. Hello, radiant, plump, and Vitamin C-boosted skin!

My Experience With Elizavecca Soda Aqua Modeling Pack

From the moment you smooth on this uniform, clay-like concoction, it feels heavenly. It's instantly cooling and incredibly relaxing – seriously, you won't find a better summer-ready skin saviour. But let's be honest, we're all here for the grand finale, right? The Peel! After just 5 to 7 minutes of drying (a quick coffee break, depending on how much water you mixed in and the environmental temperature), the fun begins.

Pulling off that rubber-like cast was immensely satisfying! My skin was instantly smoother, noticeably cooler, and there was none of that tight, unpleasant drying feeling you get with most powder masks. I'm convinced that hydrolized collagen is the secret sauce keeping everything plump and happy!
