makeup collage with a step-by-step makeup look inspired by Yennefer from the Witcher

I bet everyone had a chance to enjoy the latest Netflix original series based on a series of books The Witcher Saga by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. Last year I had the pleasure to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt role-playing game based on the same game, so I was overjoyed to start watching the series. For every hardcore fan of the novels — give this adaptation a little chance, and for those who never heard about The Witcher — don't miss an opportunity to derive pleasure from books, games, and series.

Anyways, as you have already read from the title, today we are going to be doing a makeup look inspired by one of the most interesting characters from The Witcher universe — Yennefer of Vengerberg, a century-old sorceress, who is famous for her magic powers, beauty, and personality. One of Yennefer's distinctive features is her deep violet eyes. Both in-game series and in Netflix series, Yennefer had dramatic violet smokey eye look, which I'm going to show you how to recreate in today's post.

All you need to have in your makeup arsenal for Yennefer Of Vengerberg makeup look are a pair of violet circle lenseslong-lasting eyeshadow base, black, violet, and pearly-white eyeshadows, black eye pencil (or eye kohl), mascara, and a pair of falsies. Are you ready to begin?

How to Do Makeup Look Inspired by Yennefer of Vengerberg?

  • Yennefer's violet eyes are truly unique, therefore, unlike other looks, Yennefer's makeup I start with putting violet circle lenses on. After I fill in my eyebrows with a well-sharpened black pencil, because she has the most beautiful set of dark eyebrows. Use a drop of liquid foundation or concealer to give your eyebrows extra sharpness.

  • When the eyebrows are done, proceed to apply eyeshadow primer all over your eyelids up to the brow bone. Use your ring finger to execute this important step and gently blend the primer on the skin. I like to finish this step by highlighting the brow bone. A pearly highlighter will ease the upcoming eyeshadow blending.

  • Black creamy eye kohl goes next, and we are going to use it as a dark base for the black eyeshadow. Apply it generously along the lash line, slightly extending the product upwards. This trick will elongate the natural eye shape, creating an illusion of the cat eye (shootout to the School of the Cat). Set the pencil with the darkest black eyeshadow you have in your makeup bag.

  • Now it is time to work on the crease. If you are lucky to have normal and large crease all you have to do is apply dusty-violet matte eyeshadows on the crease, actively blending it upwards. If you have a hooded or small crease, create an illusion of opened lids by applying the color a little bit above your natural crease. A small and clean pencil brush together with circular motion will help you blend the eyeshadow faster and better.

  • And the completing step - eyelash curler, black mascara, and false eyelashes. Of course, false eyelashes are always an option, but a dramatic smokey eye look will appear more beautiful with these eye accessories. Try to follow a simple makeup rule, when choosing false eyelashes for your eyes, which sounds like "mine but better". They should not be too long or thick but emphasize the beauty of your eyes and makeup look.

To complete the look, I used a light foundation, set with loose powder. I also subtly contoured my face and used clear lip gloss as a final dewy touch. Although I do not resemble the bewitching natural beauty of Yennefer's pale face, I'm more than satisfied with how this makeup tutorial turned out to be. Please, let me know if you are familiar with The Witcher and its intricate lore. Who is your favorite character from the universe and, if you haven't watched the series, would you like to do so? I will talk to you soon, lovelies!

Lots of love,
Liz
