About Skincare Brand Océane

Océane is a popular Brazilian skincare brand that exists on the market since 2008. It is well-known and loved for its innovative and effective products that cater to a wide range of skin types and concerns. With a focus on natural ingredients, Océane offers a variety of products ranging from facial cleansers, serums, and masks to body lotions and skincare tools.

Océane is a cruelty-free brand, with all of its products being vegan and never tested on animals. Therefore it is not only good for your skin but good for the planet as well.

Hyaluronic Acid Serum by Océane

The serum comes in a sturdy plastic bottle with a convenient glass dropper. The serum looks like a clear, slightly jelly substance with no color or fragrance. Once applied, the serum feels watery and slippery and leaves a sticky residue on the skin's surface. I'm not a fan of this feeling, therefore I follow acid with a thin coat of moisturizer or beauty oil.

When inspecting the ingredients list of the product, I saw that the main ingredient of the serum is sodium hyaluronate, which is slightly different from hyaluronic acid. The article on Dermcollective claims sodium hyaluronate is a water-soluble salt derived from hyaluronic acid. Unlike acid, it has a smaller molecule size, allowing hyaluronate to penetrate better into the skin. However, both ingredients offer the same benefits to the skin and body.

Other beneficial ingredients in Océane serum formulation are: Rubus Idaeus aka Red Raspberry which is used in cosmetics as a hydrating and moisturizing ingredient with an antioxidant effect; Prunus Serotina or black cherry, which is a rich source of Vitamin C, also known for its antioxidant abilities; Punica Granatum commonly known as pomegranate, which is used in skincare for its wound-heling and repairing capabilities.

How to Use Océane Hyaluronic Acid Serum?

To get maximum benefits from this product, you'll need to prepare your face and neck beforehand. Wash your skin with a mild facial cleanser or non-drying soap. Apply a few drops of the serum onto your fingers or directly on the face and spread it evenly. Gently massage your face and neck with a facial tool, or pat with the tips of your fingers. Allow the serum to absorb into the skin. Finish your skincare routine by applying your favorite facial moisturizer.

Océane recommends using this serum twice a day: in the morning and evening. They also advise you to give your skin a week to adapt to the ingredients. especially if you've never used hyaluronic acid before.

Final Verdict

Hyaluronic acid is one of the crucial ingredients in everyone's skin regimen. It is a very subtle agent, that won't give you immediate results when you apply it topically. However, over time it saturates your skin with moisture, filling up fine lines and making the skin feel smooth and youthful again. The skin needs to have an additional, topical source of natural hyaluronic acid.

With Hyaluronic Acid Serum by Océane results, you can feel the next morning after you used it in your nighttime routine. Nothing too drastic, of course. But the skin feels plumper and looks fresher, with a soft glass skin glow. Another pleasant con of this serum is its inexpensive price. Currently, it costs around R$ 66 (Brazilian Reals), which equals approximately US$13. For this price, you'll get a standard 30 ml product, which lasts pretty long! So, if you are lucky enough to encounter this product in your country, give it a try!

Lots of love,
Liz
