Hello, lovelies! Recently I ran out of my super old and almost completely dry mascara, so that means it is finally time to try out something new. I was looking for the best volumizing, lash-defining, and budget-friendly mascara, and spotted Revlon Ultimate All-in-One mascara in one of the online beauty stores. After I saw the sleek packaging, I decided to give this mascara a try and share my experience with you.
About Revlon
Revlon, a drugstore mainstay since 1932, has carved a niche for itself by offering high-quality, trendsetting makeup at accessible prices. They're known for their innovative products, like the first opaque nail polish, and their commitment to inclusivity with a wide range of shades for all skin tones. Whether you're a beauty beginner or a seasoned pro, Revlon offers the tools you need to create your signature look.
Ultimate All-in-One Mascara is my very first makeup product from Revlon. This brand is not very popular in my country and I have only tried nail products by this brand before. If you are interested, you can check out my Revlon Top Speed nail lacquer review in a beautiful shade called Lily. Anyway, I checked a few blogger reviews on the Blackest Black mascara and really like the results.
- Packaging and unique mascara wand
The mascara comes in sleek black and red packaging – very simple and perfect for my taste. The tube has an interesting flat shape, so the product won't roll off your vanity. The plastic tube is matte black and the wand holder is glossy red. It is so much easier to exploit a flat and matte tube, than regular rounded mascara.
Revlon Ultimate mascara features a unique oval-shaped brush, designed to reach every short and long lash. Revlon calls this mini mascara applicator "Revlon Power Mini Brush" and its short rubber bristle gives your lashes volume, length, and most importantly – perfect definition. All-in-One mascara is available in three shades – Blackest Black, Blackened Brown, and Black, so you can choose the shade ideal for you. The Blackest Black is intensely pigmented, charcoal-black mascara, so it absolutely justifies the name.
I really like this mini rubber applicator, it is incredibly comfortable in usage, especially when it comes to the lower lash line and the tiny lashes in the inner corners of the eyes. It works so great on the lashes that I have pretty short and sparse hair. The mini-brush ensures every one of my tiny lashes is getting covered with mascara. Though, I'm not sure how it would work on the long and voluminous lashes.
- Formula and lash definition
The formula of the mascara is kinda wet at first, but after a few usages, it becomes less damp and creamier. Don't worry, this mascara is not too messy, just requires a few seconds to dry on the lashes. When you wash off this mascara in the shower or remove it with micellar water, it comes off easily without smudging.
As you can see in the picture, the Blackest Black mascara by Revlon does a nice job of defining and separating each one of my lashes. The perfect definition is exactly what I was looking for because I don't like my lashes to look like spider legs.
When it comes to curling and lengthening, I haven't noticed any wonderful results. I used an eyelash curler before applying mascara, but my thin and straight lashes still look just normal. This mascara feels very lightweight on the lashes, it does not irritate my eyes or make my lashes feel stiff. Revlon must've been perfecting its formula, when developing and making this mascara.
- How to apply?
For the best results, I recommend you apply a few thin coats of this mascara on your lashes. Curl lashes with an eyelash curler, apply the first coat of mascara, and after a few minutes apply one more. Two thin coats will make your lashes look more voluminous and thick. Just be careful and try not to overload your lashes. Use a clean mascara wand to brush through the lashes, if you need a better separation of the lashes.
Final Verdict...
Overall, I really liked the perfect definition and the tiny rubber applicator, but not sure if I want to re-purchase the Revlon Ultimate All-in-One mascara once again. Throughout the day, I experience minor mascara flaking and my thin lashes definitely need a better lift.
The formula of All-in-One mascara is buildable, so you can reach better results by applying a few coats of this mascara, which is a major privilege of this product. Another huge con is a budget-friendly price and a tiny brush applicator, which is easy to maneuver. I would definitely add it to the list of my favorite drugstore mascaras. And what do you think, lovelies, have you ever tried Revlon All-in-One mascara?
Lots of love,
Liz
