Winter is a perfect time to reconsider your wardrobe and makeup collection by adding some dark plum, burgundy, and indigo shades to your look. Of course, matte beige, white and brown colors will still remain essential for the makeup routine, while other colors such as electric green, yellow and pink you can bravely substitute with black, silver, and sage green. Christmas and New Year's eves are the best excuses to treat yourself with a new eyeshadow palette full of cold and saturated winter colors. In today's blog post I picked five gorgeous eyeshadow palettes that will help you to create the most beautiful and mysterious makeup looks for late fall and wintertime.
Kylie The Purple Eyeshadow Palette | Kyshadow
Let's start with the latest release from Kylie Cosmetics - a gorgeous autumn/winter-inspired The Purple Palette. This palette features nine colors: four shimmer and five matte eyeshadows with cute names Blueberry, Purple Smoke, Amethyst, Wine N' Dine, Turning Violet, Lilac, Stone, Trophy, and Periwinkle. The texture of the eyeshadows is creamy and pigmentation is incredibly intense.
I bet this palette will become as popular as other makeup products by Kylie Cosmetics, though some bloggers complained about the formula. Originally The Purple Palette was introduced as part of the fall collection, but in my opinion, these shades can perfectly represent and compliment winter outfits as well.
Kat Von D Star Studded Eyeshadow Book
The next winter eyeshadow palette on my list is a Star-Studded eyeshadow book by the expert in dark gothic makeup Kat Von D. This palette is number one on my current makeup wishlist and I can't stop admiring it it it the original design of the packaging and excellent compilation of colors. Obviously, you can spot a few romantic pastel shades like light green and soft pink, but they are used to seamlessly blend darker colors.
Beauty bloggers and professional makeup artists claimed that these colors are bold and long-lasting, the only issue was with a shade called Gothica, because of its chunky formula. Overall, this eyeshadow palette has all the shades you need to create a seductive smokey eye look.
Morphe Pro 35 Color Eyeshadow Palette | Plum
Morphe Pro 35 Color Eyeshadow Palette will be loved by both professional makeups artists and beginners because it has all the necessary shades for a perfect everyday eye look and a night-out party makeup. This palette includes an exquisite assortment of earth-toned cold/warm shades and a selection of unique violet colors.
When I saw the swatches for the first time I was nicely surprised, because all the shades look very pigmented even without an eyeshadow primer. Some of the shimmer eyeshadows are chalky, and you need to blend them extra well for a smooth silky finish. This eyeshadow is truly amazing and I think it is a must-have for any makeup lover. I even spotted a few duochrome eyeshadows in this palette, isn't it amazing?
NARSissist L'Amour, Toujours L'Amour Eyeshadow Palette
A perfect combination of matte and shimmering eyeshadow for a flawless brown smokey eye or a simple and subtle natural makeup look. This travel-friendly palette by Nars was released in spring 2016 and consists of an amazing mix of 12 neutral and dark colors. You can even use some of the shades to fill in your eyebrows! This eyeshadow palette perfectly suits every complexion and can beautifully emphasize every eye color.
Urban Decay Mariposa Eyeshadow Palette
And last for today, but definitely, not least the makeup palette is an Urban Decay Mariposa eyeshadow palette. It is a Sephora-exclusive eyeshadow palette created for the holiday season and it comes with a travel-sized eyeshadow brush. Five stars to the pigmented, long-lasting formula and to the gorgeous and unique metal tin design of the packaging. Some of the colors are a little bit too dry, but you can solve this problem by applying a nice eyeshadow primer before makeup.
