It is rather difficult to find a more feminine and provocative fashion garment than an old-fashioned corset. But, unfortunately, it is also complicated to incorporate these Gothic accessories in the outfit, especially in your everyday outfit. You can always choose a denim corset over a classic black piece with buckles, and lace but denim apparel will never look as seductive and cheeky. Luckily, there is one pretty innocuous way to style Gothic apparel and make it more "appropriate" for the gray reality of everyday life.

All you need to do is to substitute a regular overbust corset with something slightly less dramatic, but just as Gothic and feminine. I'm talking about a wide corset-belt*, which is widely known as a fashion harness and somehow reminds me of light body bondage. To tell the truth, I had been wanting a harness for a very long time. But it was quite hard to find a perfect harness, that won't be looking like a BDSM accessory, but still, be fashionable and cool.

Thankfully, this waist belt looks more like a part of the steampunk outfit, so I can't complain. It is made of lightweight faux leather and features a wide and stretchy rubber band on the back part of the belt. The front part has a simple velcro fastener, that is hidden under the two faux buckles.

The belt beautifully accentuates the waist, making the silhouette voluptuous and graceful. It is made of soft material, so won't feel too tight or uncomfortable. The waist belt is very easy to put on: adjust the shoulder straps and fasten the front part.

Now let's talk about styling and wearing waist belts. It is so much easier than wearing a full overbust corset! First of all, you need to make sure that a dress, blouse or shirt, you want to wear underneath the belt, is comfortable and fits you very well.

Bulky wrinkles from your clothes won't do justice to this fine fashion accessory. I like to wear this belt with a vintage-inspired dress, but it looks just as flattering on a white social shirt or a bodycon dress. Stay away from bold jewelry and short skirts to keep the outfit well-balanced.

Overall, I'm in love with this faux leather waist belt! There are so many beautiful and easy ways how you can style this accessory and it is less tricky than a regular corset. This corset waist belt is available in two classic colors: black and camel brown. By the way, the camel-brown color looks even more 'everydayish', than a good old black leather variant. Don't forget to let me know what you think of this accessory, I'm thrilled to know your opinion. Until next time!

Lots of love,
Liz
