I love the way black nail polish looks on long, witch-like nails. It gives your nail a super-edgy and dramatic appeal and makes you feel more confident and sexy. Plus, black nail polish is one of the most versatile colors for every occasion and skin complexion. I always feel more confident while wearing a black manicure, but black holographic nail polish gives me an even stronger boost of self-confidence. Who said you can't wear a witchy manicure daily? Today I'm giving myself a witch-worthy nail makeover and trying out new holographic nail polish by Born Pretty.
The Black Desire* nail polish is one of the holographic nail polishes in the Rainbow Holo Series, which includes five rainbow-infused colors: Purple Seduction, Silver Cabin, Champagne Storm, Gold Starlight, and Black Desire. Previously, I tried Champagne Gold holographic nail polishes and even used them to create a festive Christmas glam manicure. The Black Desire nail polish comes in the same bottle as Champagne Gold and has a very comfortable medium-sized brush-applicator. All regular nail polishes by Born Pretty have a black cover, unlike gel nail polishes with golden toppers.
The formula of Black Desire nail polish is not runny or thick, but perfect for effortless application. The first coat of polishes is pretty opaque, but I prefer to apply two thin coats for perfect and even coverage. And, of course, my favorite thing about Black Desire is its haunting, galaxy-like color.
The plain black color is enhanced with petty holographic particles, which reflect the light away from the surface of the nails and create a subtle sparkling effect. To fortify the sparkling effect I applied No Smudge Top Coat, also by Born Pretty, it makes the final manicure look glossier, revealing the holographic sparkle and seals the deal.
Overall, I adore the Black Desire nail polish. The whole Rainbow Holo Series looks very appealing to me. I will definitely want to try other colors from this series. One of the best things about glittery nail polishes is their longevity. Regular matte or glossy nail polish lasts about 4 days on the nails, while nail polish with glitter or shimmer can hold on the nail plate up to one and, in some cases, even two weeks! Isn't it fascinating? So, if you plan a long vacation and do not want to cover your nails in gel nail polish, glittery formulas can be a great alternative.
