Let's face it, elaborate skincare routines are great, but who always has the energy for them? Thankfully, for lazy days, there's the concept of skin minimalism. Think of it as a secret plan for achieving a healthy glow even on days you don't feel like doing much. This simplified approach focuses on just a few key steps, giving you back precious minutes while keeping your skin happy.

Today I'll reveal my personal 3-step skin minimalist routine that requires little to no effort, delivering maximum results. Get ready to discover how to cleanse, moisturize, and (optionally) boost your natural radiance in a flash –  all while embracing your inner glow-getter!

What Is Skin Minimalism?

Skin minimalism, also known as "skinimalism," is a growing trend in skincare that emphasizes a more simplified approach to the classic skincare routine. It's a reaction, a protest if you will, to the overwhelming number of expensive skincare products and 14-step routines...which, to be truthful, very exhausting...

Here are the three key ideas behind skin minimalism, that will help you to understand this philosophy a little bit better:

Focus on quality over quantity: Instead of layering on tons of products, skinimalism uses a few high-quality products that target your specific concerns.

Prioritize natural ingredients: Many skinimalists look for products with gentle, effective ingredients that are better for your skin and the environment.

Let your skin breathe: By using fewer products, you allow your skin to function more naturally and avoid potential irritation.

Glowing Look in Simple 3-Steps: Skin Minimalism Routine for Lazy Days

One of the biggest advantages of skinimalism philosophy is the effortless, low-key approach to the whole process. This is a big pro on those days, when, putting in the effort for an elaborate skincare routine can feel like a bit much. But who says you can't achieve that radiant glow with just three simple steps? Here is my personal, affordable, and very simple guide to a glowing look in three easy steps:

biore Foaming Facial Wash

  • Step 1: Cleanse 🧼

Start your lazy day routine by giving your skin a fresh start. A gentle cleanser will help remove any impurities, excess oil, and the remnants of yesterday's makeup. Opt for a cleanser that suits your skin type – whether it's a refreshing gel or a creamy formula, make sure it leaves your skin feeling clean and ready for the next steps.

At this moment, I like to use an affordable Foaming Facial Wash by a Japanese skincare brand Biore, as it deeply cleanses my stubborn pores without drying out the skin. The skin feels hydrated and so soft after I use it.

Elizavecca Vitamin C Toner

  • Step 2: Toner 🌸

Next up, tone it up! A good toner not only balances your skin's pH but also preps it for the upcoming hydration. Look for a toner with hydrating ingredients like rose water or hyaluronic acid. A quick swipe on your face with a cotton pad will do the trick, leaving your skin refreshed and ready to absorb the goodness that follows.

I'm currently using Elizavecca Vitamin C Toner, as I love multitasking products! This toner hydrates the skin, protects it from free radicals, and boosts collagen production. I especially love how this toner ''glaze'' my skin, making it look so radiant! But you can use any other toner you like or even DIY personalized toner that will fit your skin type.

Cenoura & Bronze sunscreen with 50 FPS

  • Step 3: Moisturizing + Sun Protection ☀️

Wrap up your lazy day routine with a two-in-one step – moisturizing and sun protection. Opt for a lightweight moisturizer that gives your skin the hydration it needs without feeling heavy. However, make sure it includes 30+ SPF for that added sun protection. This step not only ensures your skin stays moisturized but also shields it from the harmful effects of UV rays. Lazy days or not, your skin deserves that extra layer of care!

These days I like to use sunscreen by Cenoura & Bronze with 50 FPS. It feels a bit heavy on the skin, so might not be suitable for oily skin types. But, my dry skin loves and glows with this moisturizer. It has pure shea butter and glycerin in composition for that extra boost of radiance!

How About Some Natural Skin Glow Boosters?

A thoroughly-planned skincare routine is always good for your face and neck, however, there are a bunch of stuff you can do daily to naturally boost your skin's health and radiance.

    ▸ Hydration → Drink Up!

Water is your skin's best friend. Staying adequately hydrated helps flush out toxins from your body, leaving your skin looking clearer and more vibrant. Proper hydration maintains skin elasticity, preventing it from appearing dry or dull. Aim for at least eight glasses of water a day, and you'll be providing your skin with the hydration it needs to stay plump and radiant.

▸ Quality Sleep → Beauty Rest

Ever wondered why it's called "beauty sleep"? During the night, your skin goes into repair mode, producing collagen and elastin, essential proteins for maintaining the skin's firmness and elasticity. Lack of sleep can lead to increased stress hormones, which can result in skin issues such as breakouts and inflammation. Ensure you get 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to let your skin rejuvenate and wake up with that fresh, rested glow.

▸ Stress Management → Zen Time

Chronic stress can wreak havoc on your skin. High stress levels trigger the release of cortisol, which can lead to increased oil production and inflammation, contributing to acne and other skin problems. Incorporating stress management techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, or even a relaxing hobby can help keep stress levels in check. Your skin will thank you with a smoother, more radiant complexion.

Let's summarize...

Skin minimalism isn't about throwing away all your makeup or never indulging in a pampering mask. It's about being mindful of what you use on your skin and creating a routine that keeps it healthy and glowing with minimal effort. I hope today's blog post will encourage you to look through your skincare stash and rethink some of your steps. Maybe it is time to give your facial skin a retreat. What do you think?
