Mullet with Short Bangs

Wikipedia describes mullet as a versatile haircut that looks the business at the front and side parts, and playful in the back. Usually worn by men, but actively conquered by women in the past few decades. It also describes this haircut style as the only easy option available for those people, who had to cut their own hair at home, due to Covid-19 lockdown. Apparently, because the only part of the head they can visualize well are the sides and the front. Would you give yourself a mullet haircut with short bangs? I think this look is my favorite so far!

Mullet + Buzz Cuts

There were many celebrities, who went through the mullet hair phase, including Miley Cyrus, Scarlett Johansson, and even Irina Shayk. But, Yolandi knew her mullets like no one ever, she owned this style a long time before the 2020 mullet fever. With her long mullet tail and buzzed sides hairstyle she would be a perfect candidate for the main role in 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' movie, isn't she? Anyways, here is a similar to Yolandi's mullet, that looks like a mohawk, featuring long hair on the back and buzzed sides.

Sarah Connor Mullet Vibes

Linda Hamilton aka Sarah Connor from Terminator has made a mullet haircut iconic. Women all around the world wanted to look like her, or at least have Sarah's hair, and copied her voluminous locks. Her particular mullet style is characterized by shag-like layers of various lengths, which have been teased and set with a ton of hair spray. The modern approach to this iconic look is a little bit more relaxed and it makes it a little bit more approachable and casual.

Mullet with V Bangs and Buzzed Sides

V bangs are my long-time passion. I never dared to make them happen, but always admired those, who can effortlessly rock the sharp like a dagger, perfectly cut bangs. Combined with buzzed sides and longer hair on the back, this hairstyle is an ultimate daring statement and it is so hard to take your eyes off of this look. And what do you think, lovelies, how do you like this mullet haircut?

Shaggy Mullet Haircut

The next mullet variation is my second favorite, it looks like a chunky short bob cut, dearly loved by Demi Lovato and mentioned in my 10 Best Short Hairstyles blog post. Shaggy or chunky mullet has a grunge vibe to it, because of its messy appearance. It is a basic short mullet with short sides and longer back part, but with some extra short layers on the back. I don't know about you, lovelies, but this style and blonde hair color remind me of young Courtney Love.

Mullet Haircut for Curly Hair

Some say that a mullet haircut was made for naturally curly hair. Because of its volume and bounciness, curly hair makes the different layers of the mullet haircut blend seamlessly. Plus, the short hair on the front keeps your natural curls freeze-free, giving you a chance to show them off in their best state. So, if your hair is naturally curly don't miss the chance to rock the mullet look, you'll love it!

Casual Mullet Haircut

And, lastly, a few words about this casual mullet haircut for those, who aren't ready for the crazy experiments with their hair. It is kind of an in-between look, which you can also name a 'layered' haircut. The layers in this haircut are longer, they are well-balanced and the top layers are usually 'teased' for voluminous hair finish. Keep your back part even longer and style it with gel for a Kesha-like wet mullet style.

And what is your opinion on this trendy haircut? Would you dare to give yourself a mullet haircut at home? I would totally screw it. Which one of these mullet styles you like the most? Please, let me know your thoughts in the comment section, and don't forget to check out mullet hairstyles on Pinterest. There are so many wonderful and modern options for those, who like it hot!

Lots of love,
